Cheapest shipping for the Wilfred Costume available!
We were blessed with another season of our favorite show, Wilfred again this year. That makes it’s second season and it brought the laughs and heart that the first season did. The costume that Wilfred (Jason Gann) wore remained the same however, so as far as Halloween this year goes, if you have the Wilfred costume from last year, you can simply reuse it. If you don’t, now is the time to buy it. I read an article regarding the show and Jason said that FX sold over 8,000 Wilfred costumes last year so you can expect even more to sell this year. The show had higher ratings and more people know about it.

Last year there was an alternative costume sold here that resembled Wilfred and many people purchased that, some preferred the color over the original FX one, mostly because the images used on their site show the costume as being pretty light, not exactly like we remember him looking. I’ve had it in front of me and I can say the color matches great. The only thing missing is the darker underlying material that gives him the grittier look, but it’s nothing to worry about.
The only Wilfred dog costume available is the official costume from FX
…so if you want one before it sells out, now is the time. You can get it from FX for about $100 and you’ll be able to put plenty of use to it. The show isn’t going anywhere so expect it to be a costume you can wear for at least a few years. Some people have decided to add to the costume by using accessories such as a fake bong, a roughed up teddy bear (The character Bear who Wilfred so openly and hysterically abuses during the show), fake stubble and of course the black dog nose paint. Any serious Halloween partier will want to go full-fledge and get the exact look, some are happy with simply wearing it by itself and knowing that everyone and their dog, no pun intended will know who they are.
Season 2 had some great episodes and along with it some wonderful examples on things you can do when you go as Wilfred this year. Some dance moves were expertly displayed this season so if you have someone who wants to go as Ryan you can find the choreography of the moves online and start working on them now. In my opinion that would be a great way to stand out from anyone else you might run into wearing the costume. No doubt some people who bought the costume this year will go again, I mean, they did spend $100+ so why not get the most use you can out of it?
Regardless of whether you’re going again or it’s your first time, I can’t recommend the costume enough. It’s simple, comfortable and reusable. Get to purchasing one and I’ll see you on Halloween!
It’s almost time for Halloween 2012! Are you excited? If you’re at the site you’re probably here to check out the Wilfred Costume. This is the second year it’s been available from FX and it’s the same price as last year. After all is said and done you’ll spend between $100 to $110 on the costume. Possibly more if you don’t shop around. The one offered at this site has the cheapest shipping you can find, so if you saw it somewhere else, don’t go back, get it here!
If you’re all ready to purchase it then click on the left side to check it out. It’s one-size fits all, and it’s very roomy, so don’t worry if ‘one size fits all’ is something you usually scoff at, this time it really means it, with obvious exceptions. If you’re 7′ tall, or 500 pounds, you might need to Wilfred costumes!
Halloween 2012 is going to be full of all sorts of new costumes, but since it’s the second year of Wilfred you might not see as many out there as usual. The second season just wrapped up as well, and I don’t think it got the same numbers as last year, but I’m sure there are still tons of you watching it and wanting to go as Wilfred. I even saw a girl go as Wilfred last year, and it worked! Maybe they should incorporate that into the show? Give Wilfred a girlfriend played by a human in a dog suit? I don’t think Wilfred could go a week without somehow killing her, we know he’s pretty much insane. Or is he just normal for a dog? I’m sure season 3 has all the answers we seek.
You can buy the Wilfred Costume in time for Halloween! Don’t wait any longer though because it’s selling fast! This is the most realistic Wilfred costume available and it can be shipped and delivered in plenty of time for Costume parties or Trick or Treatin’!
You can get the “Disgruntled Dog Costume” which many claim is the most realistic Wilfred costume available. It’s got a darker fur and closer to the original Wilfred look. It’s available for $119.99 and it’s selling fast!
Tell your friends that the Wilfred the Dog Halloween Costume is available now! Buy the Wilfred Costume before it sells out!
Wilfred is Sarah’s dog. He is 9 years old and the only thing we know about his breed is that he’s one/sixteenth “Dingo”. Wilfred is very protective of Sarah which makes him aggressive, manipulative and conniving against any men who are interested in her. He smokes cigarettes and weed, drinks beer and eats bad food. He also has a foul mouth which gets him in trouble. In short, he’s awesome.
When I first saw the show Wilfred on FX I knew immediately what I wanted to be for Halloween. I wanted to be Wilfred, so I looked up how much a wilfred costume was gonna cost me but there was only one problem, no one was selling it. Oh no! I guess I can’t go as Wilfred, or maybe I can? I’m gonna make my own Wilfred Halloween Costume and it’s gonna be better than I could have bought, yeah, that’s what I’ll do! Wait, I can’t sew and have no idea what I’m doing!
That’s where this site comes in. I’m going to go step by step from beginning to end on me making my own Wilfred costume and you get to see and share the experience. When it’s finished, hopefully I will have enough detailed instructions for you to make your own, while not having to suffer all the trouble and learning I did. Here goes nothing.
The sizes will be for adults for the Wilfred the dog costume.
Additional Wilfred Costume Accessories:
Creating fake stubble: Chop up some wool or similar textured material into small pieces uses your scissors. The pieces will ideally be about an eighth of an inch in length. Do the cutting over a bowl to catch any falling shreds. Wash your face with soap and water, then dry it. Make sure it’s 100% dry before continuing. Brush adhesive over the part of your face you want the stubble. To replicate the Wilfred beard, find a picture of Wilfred, print it out or do this in front of your PC. Use Spirit Gum or something similar. It will take about a minute for the gum to get tacky. After applying, wait a few minutes for it to dry. Get a small amount of chopped hair in your fingers and roll it around in your fingers. Apply the chopped hair to your face. Repeat the process until you have the fake beard you desire.
Wilfred dog nose: The final step on your Wilfred dog look is to get your nose black. This is a simple process and can be done with black face paint, easily found at any costume shop. Apply the black nose makeup according to the Wilfred nose and it should easily last the night. If you have a girl in your life who has makeup already she can probably supply you with eye shadow for the same effect which could save you a little money.

Don’t think Wilfred is going to be popular? Think again. It’s looking to be possibly the number one costume for Halloween this year, and possibly a contender for next year as well. The thing about it is, the season finale just wrapped up, and the types of people who enjoy Wilfred are also the same who still dress up for Halloween even though they are in an older age group. It’s like the perfect storm. If you’re here because you want the costume, then trust me, buy it now! Don’t wait! Don’t think you can wait until later or it might be too late. You need the costume obviously, but you also need to get the other accessories to look just like him. The includes the Wilfred beard, bong and nose. Those are the easy parts tho.
Everyone who I talk to about this costume I tell them the same thing, “IT WILL SELL OUT. I PROMISE.” This is going to be the #1 costume of 2011, mark my words. I don’t know about you, and how long you typically wait to buy your costume, but if you’re one of those people who waits till a week or so before Halloween to start buying then you will not be able to be Wilfred, sorry to say. You need to order this within the first day or two of it being sold if you want a chance of having it. It’s a rare costume, and this is it’s first year. I have experience with costumes just like it from last year and that’s exactly what’s gonna happen. Next year it’ll be a different story but I guarantee you this year it’s gonna be sold like furry hotcakes. Send me an e-mail if you have any questions.
While this site started out as the steps I was taking to create my own, it transformed into something bigger than that. I find that it’s important to point out that this site is not affiliated with FX Networks, or the Wilfred show in any way. The costume I’m selling is the official Wilfred costume, and the only one available on the Internet. This is a site dedicated to my appreciation of the Wilfred show. With that said, enjoy your Halloween and keep watching Wilfred!
Update: I’ve found the pattern I’m going to use. It’s the “Simplicity Pattern #2853″ which is for adult animals. I figure I can use the basic layout and just make a few minor changes. The ears and tail will be slightly different, as well as the grey shag material I plan on using, but still haven’t found.
The beauty about making my own Wilfred costume is that I can control the look and feel and make it as accurate as possible. In the past when I’ve bought Halloween costumes I would be at the control of the manufacturer on how they thought it should look.
While Wilfred is a simple costume, you can tell when someone put that extra effort into it to get it looking exactly right.
Once the Wilfred costume is complete, the only thing to add is the black nose make-up, maybe some fake stubble and a fake bong! That would definitely get me some strange looks, maybe even questioned by cops!
Once you’ve got your Wilfred Costume, and variable accessories, ranging from the rough beard, black painted dog nose, bong, bear, back-pack, or whatever else you can get that matches Wilfred, then you’ve got to start thinking about how your going to act. It’s one thing to put a costume on and forget that you’re wearing it. That’s fine, but there are also other options when you decide on who you’re going to be for Halloween. If you’re going as Wilfred, why not practice his behavior to enhance it even more? What are your options?
You can always get someone to play along with you. For instance, if you’re going as Wilfred, why not get a buddy to be Ryan? Got a friend who looks like him? If he loves the show maybe he’ll like the idea of going as Wilfred’s best buddy. Since Ryan typically dresses rather normal it wouldn’t be hard to replicate. You could even pull it off where Wilfred and Ryan have the same kind of relationship and Ryan won’t accept that anyone else could possibly be seeing Wilfred. If you have a girlfriend, wife or other female that likes the show maybe she can be your Jenna. Wilfred and Jenna would make a lot of sense. The possibilities are endless on how far you’d want to take the whole thing. That’s one that makes Halloween as awesome as it is, buying costumes or making your own version is just one aspect. Then you get to act like your character the entire night. Not something that you get to do often so enjoy it.
Get your Wilfred costume on and prepare to have a blast! Don’t be afraid to act out the character but don’t get it any trouble. Wilfred obviously pulls some pranks and gets into trouble but don’t take it too far. Some of the things Wilfred does, especially involving getting Ryan in trouble could get you in some hot water if done in real life. First and foremost, enjoy yourself but be careful. Get into character, make people laugh, but remember Halloween is for fun, not for mistakes.
Don’t forget to take good care of your costume. It’s going to be a big hit next year as well, and I’m sure you’ll still like the show so keep good care of your costume and don’t get any rips or tears, or especially stains. You can always have the costume dry-cleaned but sometimes it can change the look or size so it’s best to keep it as tidy as you can.
One thing I can recommend is watching the show before you go out to get into the Wilfred character. If you can do an Australian accent even better! It would be awesome to see someone act like Wilfred the entire night without breaking character. That could drive some people crazy but would be an awesome story to tell later on! Some people might not get it, especially if they’ve never seen the show, they’ll just think a weird dog got invited.
This year, 2011, is going to be an interesting time for people choosing costumes. In the past, you had your normal costumes to choose from, the standard vampires, clowns and what not. Then as we started getting more and more comic book movies they started coming out with more and more costumes, and even better quality. Then people started getting ideas for new costumes from the Internet. Saw a picture of one you thought was amazing? Simply make it yourself with the step by step instructions listed from someone’s site. Many times that someone makes an awesome costume, they will provide how they did it so others can join along.
Now we’ve even got TV shows with costumes we can buy, for example, Wilfred Costume. This show is perfect for Halloween costumes because it’s a pretty simply costume, but it covers your entire body and you don’t really need much else. If you do choose to go as Wilfred this Halloween then besides the costume you need some extra stuff as well:
Wilfred Nose: This can be done with regular eyeliner or basic black face paint. Grab a picture of Wilfred’s nose from the Internet and make it look identical. Even someone not comfortable with applying make up (guys) it shouldn’t be a problem. Worst case scenerio ask your girlfriend/wilfred/lady friend to put it on for you.
Beard: If you want the full Wilfred effect then you’ll also need a shaggy 10 o’clock shadow, to really give the scroungy dog look. If you can do this naturally, or it doesn’t interfere with your regular habits then go for it. If not, you can also buy some fake beard make up and apply it. Some dark foundation would work if you just apply it with a sponge sparingly.
Bear: If you really want to start making it look authentic then you’ll need your own bear to carry around. Bear looks like a carnival quality bear, so it shouldn’t cost that much. Check your local toy-stores for one that looks like it. Buying a bear of that size on the Internet might be difficult due to the shipping cost. You could also try Build-A-Bear to see how cheap you can get one. After you find the perfect Bear you need to make it look used and abused. Missing one eye, scratches, dirt and holes in it will make it look like Wilfred’s bear.
Bong: Get a gatorade bottle, empty it out, take off the label. Apply a “water nozel” to the outside and voila! There ya go. You might even go with some dry ice for the smoke effect. You definitely don’t want to be smoking anything ‘real’ out of it or your Halloween might take a turn for the worse. Being Wilfred in Jail? Not too realistic, maybe the pound.
I’ve heard a lot of feedback from visitors that they wanted to make their own Wilfred costume. This could range from them wanting to design their own layout, purchase the fabric, cut out the fabric, sew it together, etc or even commission someone to do all of it for them. There are certain benefits to doing it like this, but there are also certain drawbacks.
The benefits would be that you will have a one of a kind costume for this Halloween and future ones as well. While you might see other people at the part that are going as Wilfred, they won’t look exactly alike and you won’t have to worry about theirs or anybody else’s lowering the value of your costume. You might however see other people as Wilfred that are dressed exactly the same, in the same outfit. In those cases, you’ll feel a lot better you made your own.
You can also design the costume to fit to your exact body type. The Wilfred suits available now are “one size fits all” which we all know can mean different things. They do give size and weight limits, ranging from 5’4 to 6’4 with a limit of around 250 pounds. You can even get plus-size Wilfred outfit as well.
The drawbacks will be of course the cost. You can buy the Wilfred costumes from $70-$100 right now, and if you have your own made, that will be the cost of the fabric at least. Then you have time, other materials, etc to factor in. It’s up to you obviously on how you choose to represent the funniest dog on TV right now, so all we can do is give the good and bad and let you decide. Whatever you decide though, keep in mind Halloween is right around the corner so either buy it or make it, but whatever you do, don’t wait!
As people make more and more costumes I will try to collect pictures and have them displayed here. That might help others when deciding on what they want to do, buy the costume or venture out and make their own. If you have a lot of experience making your own costumes or have access to someone who does and can, it might be the way to go. Getting your own one of a kind costume is a great feeling and you can always sell it when you outgrow it!
Well, after a few weeks of setting up this site and selling the costume I’ve realized that Wilfred looks to be huge this Halloween season. It’s selling great, and everyone seems to be happy with their purchase so far. That’s the good news, the bad news is that it does look to be selling pretty fast. For instance, the XL size of the darker fur Wilfred costume is already sold out until October 15th. You can still get the standard/regular size or the plus-size Wilfred costume, so it’s not a total loss. Who knows how long the other Wilfred costumes will be available though. Anytime a new costume like this comes out, the first year it usually sells out because the people who put money into making it weren’t sure how well it would sell. If anyone would have asked me I would have let them know they would probably sell as many as they made, and it’s shaping out to be true.
You can still get the FX Wilfred Costume, which is technically the only licensed and official Wilfred costume available. The other costume is not a “Wilfred” costume but just a dog costume which resembles him greatly. Many are saying it looks closer than the FX one, but I see both sides. The FX costume actually has better fur and is one piece, while the other looks more similar in color, it’s not as great of a costume, quality wise. I was actually considering taking the FX one and trying to darken it. I ordered two from them and they arrived last week. I tried it on, and I’m 6’4 and it fit just fine. That’s a good sign because most guys who will be wearing it will probably be between average heights and I think this costume is gonna fit great.
The bottom line is that if you want to look like Wilfred you’re gonna need to order it quick, or have another method up your sleeve to getting the correct type of costume for what you desire. If you do decide to take this route and buy one then make sure you get it in time for Halloween, and you get all the accessories you need as well!
As we get closer and closer to Halloween you’ll probably see people posting pictures of them as Wilfred on their Facebook and other social media outlets. As soon as people see it, you can bet it’s gonna be a chain reaction and it’s gonna even sell faster than before. When the next batch comes in, after this one sells out, which I’m sure it will, you’ll be hard-pressed to get one at that point, so buy it now.
The Wilfred Costume is back in stock and ready to start flying off the shelves. If you haven’t decided what you want to go as for Halloween yet then let me try and talk you into going as Wilfred the dog. If you’ve seen the show then you should know that going as Wilfred would be a lot of fun. It’s not like normal Halloween costumes where you have to be nice to people, this costume gives you permission to act however you want! All Wilfred does on the show is get Ryan into trouble by acting out and doing whatever he wants. If you go to a party as Wilfred and start causing trouble people will just think it’s in character, how great is that?
The costume is being sold at costumes.net and is currently at $139.99. It’s a great deal and the shipping is very low. The only problem is that if you wait, you’re not gonna have time to get it when it finally sells out if you wait, so don’t. It’s the right color, shape and size just like Wilfred. Now they don’t call it the Wilfred costume, but it looks just like him. Check it out, you can’t deny the resemblance. The cool thing about this costume is that even if no one knows who Wilfred is at the party, you’re still a walking, talking dog and that works too!
I know this is going to be one of the biggest hits of Halloween and people are already lining up to sell it. Don’t hesitate or wait, and let’s get this show on the road. Order it now, don’t wait to get your accessories either. The beard, bong, bear and a backpack? The B’s and Wilfred together will guarantee that you have one of the best costumes at the party or Trick or Treatin’, if that’s your thing!
